Like all CT machines the NewTom 5G Cone Beam CT, a specialist machine, uses X-Rays, but an examination on the Cone Beam CT uses only 10 percent of the radiation delivered by a routine Fan Beam CT.

Our Cone Beam differs from the more commonly available CT scan machines; patients lie down on a moving table to be scanned. This means we can scan elbows, wrists, hands, knees, ankles and feet – even the cervical spine (neck). The Cone Beam also provides high resolution imagery of the face, sinuses, teeth, and temporal bones (inner ear). This lets us provide you with detail of your bones, joints and soft tissues through a safer procedure.
